Nyeri international coffee Expo 2018

It was yet another time for Nyeri International Coffee Expo (2018) ,third edition that went down on the 9th and 10th of November 2018. The venue was Whispers ground at the heart of Nyeri town. Unlike last year it attracted more people and I imagine it is due to the proximity of the venue to the town center.

I inquired from the organizer Mr. Laban Dereva on why they decided to pick a name of one county ‘Nyeri’ to brand the event and he Continue reading “Nyeri international coffee Expo 2018”

Of Coffee in the sunset & human nature

Evening seems to  set in early today. The sun rays form a magnificent pattern in the fading sun sky.

I Might as well get my self a cappuccino (do not tie me to that ,there is room for rephrasing) WE the people are not affected by late night caffeine.

So a cappuccino it is .

It tastes so good, so creamy-sh ,so yummy-ish,so black-ish . Temptation for a second one is looming, but no, I wouldn’t want to start singing along to UB 40’s ‘sins of the fathers’ …at a very late hour while everybody else is in la la la land having sweet dreams or nightmares for the terrorists and thugs and all bad people in general.

…We human beings create problems and then afterwards when things begin going haywire we start looking for ways to solve the same same problems … Continue reading “Of Coffee in the sunset & human nature”

Marathons and coffee

Just like that I learnt a very important lesson; “If the race is too big for you, create and run your own race”!

I spent a bit of time watching a repeat of the Amsterdam marathon 2018 edition in which  one Lawrence Cherono retained his last years win for the men marathon with three Ethiopians sweeping the first three spots of the women marathon. As usual it was an ‘East African affair’.

But that was not the interesting part ,no, the interesting part was that in the same marathon ,the Netherlands had its own national marathon. It took me a while contemplating on that. Continue reading “Marathons and coffee”

Cold &Caffeinated flashbacks

With this cold weather,#kenyanwinter, one sure way to keep warm is by keeping a good cup of coffee by your side. A sip every now and then will most definitely keep you warm, awake , Chilled, sane among other sound attributes not to mention the quickest way to do away with those Continue reading “Cold &Caffeinated flashbacks”

Coffee expressions

With this rain and some of us have not marked ourselves safe for the rains happening in Southern Kenya!  Where again is Southern Kenya? Any way  I will do that when Ndakaini  dam gets full or at least the task force on the same gives its report when the rains are not yet over because if it does so after the rain season is over what will be the use of their report?

It is raining. I am stuck in the office. Yet again I forgot nowadays it always rains every evening , I wonder who should get the blame for my forgetting,I guess my middle name should take the blame, as for ‘ME’ it wasn’t me!
